About Me: The Holcombes are a family of three from Boulder, CO, who sold their home in June of 2014 and have been exploring North America in their Winnebago View ever since. They are photojournalists who specialize in bringing their adventures to life for their followers through their photographs, videos and narratives. They have travelled over 85,000 miles through 46 states, explored dozens of National Parks, and have some incredible stories from their adventures across the continent. You can read more about their adventures on their blog at www.Famagogo.com. and follow them on social media at

Favorite Spring ’16 Aventura pieces:

Favorite Blog: www.Famagogo.com It’s so fun to share our adventures with the world. I hope that our images, stories and videos inspire other families to get outside and go on their own adventures.

Favorite Instagrammer or Pinner: I rarely look at Instagram or Pintrest, but when I do, I check out what @PeterHolcombe and @AdventurousMiss have to say - I love to follow my family’s Instagram and see the impressions they share with the world.

Singing in the car or singing in the shower: Car of course - I live in an RV.

Person that inspires you: Emily Jackson, world champion freestyle kayaker. She is a loving wife, fantastic mother, incredible friend and one of the best freestyle kayakers in the world. Her kindness, generosity and excellence shines through in everything she does.

Favorite Book: Usually it’s the one I’m currently reading. Right now it’s Mr. Penumbra’s 24 Hour Bookstore.

What are you listening to right now? Rain falling on the roof of the RV - my favorite!

Favorite movie of all time: The Secret Life of Walter Mitty - best adventure movie ever. I think I might suffer from the same imagination affliction he does. My personal recollections of our adventures are always WAY scarier than what Peter and Abby remember. :)

Best piece of advice you ever received? “You can do anything if you just get really into it.” Pete Stears, rock climber and friend

What’s the most amazing experience you’ve had in your life (besides having babies and getting married): Selling my house and moving my family and business into an RV. For the past 2+ years we have lived full time on the road exploring every wild nook and cranny in North America. I love creating images, articles and videos that allow us to share the incredible places we have been and the adventures we have had with family and friends around the world.

Funny tidbit not everyone knows about you…but will now! I am the pied piper of snakes. It’s as if they sense my presence and come slithering in my direction, especially while kayaking. While I’m not particularly afraid of them, you can hear my scream for miles when they surprise me, especially if it involves unanticipated skin to skin contact.

What does #aventuralife mean to you? How do you live it? You get one shot at this life, so you live it well. For me, time with my family spent in wild places tops the list. On any given day you will find us out on a river, kayaking through thundering rapids, usually with my 12 year old daughter in the lead.
