#Aventuralife means no bounds. I try to live this day to day by not limiting myself or my girls.

Hometown: I consider Eagle River to be my hometown now.

About Me: I am a stay at home mother of 3 little girls and one on the way. I love exploring the Alaska wilderness and use photography as my creative outlet. I strive to live my life according to God’s will and try to serve those around me daily.

Favorite Spring ’17 Aventura pieces you are looking forward to trying: One piece I am looking forward to is the Titus Ankle Pant. Even in the spring and summer we have cold days in Alaska so it is always nice to find pants that make you feel like it’s summer but give you more coverage.

Favorite Blog: I have loved reading the Currently Wandering Blog, they are a full time traveling family with wonderful values and seem to have a great balance of adventure and quiet family time. Their life is so different than ours so it is fun to get to see how they make it all work

Favorite Instagrammer or Pinner: I have loved following @caredw on Instagram. She is a mama to a little girl with another sweet baby on the way. She and her family go on some pretty amazing hikes and I just love getting to see a different part of the country through her page.

Singing in the car or singing in the shower: My girls love it when we blast Kidz Bop and sing at the top of our lungs

Person that inspires you: One of my good friends here in Eagle River inspires me. She has 5 little kids and is always quick to help me with anything I could need. There have been many times that she has been the positive voice in my head pushing me to think more positively about myself. She is always inspiring and uplifting me to be the best mom I can, and to be honest and open with all those around me. She is always such a great breath of fresh air!

Favorite Book: I am not really sure what my favorite book is, it is constantly changing but right now I am reading, and love Wild by Cheryl Strayed.

What are you listening to right now? Most of the time I listen to either the Vance Joy or The Chainsmokers playlist on Pandora. Neither of them are really kid music, but I need that some times. It’s a nice break from Kidz Bop, haha!

Favorite movie of all time: Oh man, this is really hard! I am not sure I have a favorite movie, but I do love all of the Avenger or X-Men movies! I could watch those over and over.

Best piece of advice you ever received? The best piece of advice I have received had to do with motherhood and was from a total stranger in the grocery store. I was about 8 months pregnant with a 13 month old on my hip. Instead of the usual, wow you have your hands full, or was this planned, she said to me “Don’t stress about it. Once your new little one comes you will adjust, because you will have to, then all the sudden that will become your new normal and you won’t be able to imagine a life without two little babies.” Sure it is a little blunt, but it stuck with me and was so empowering to me, with each little one we have added to the family I have remembered that yes, it will be hard, we will have to adjust, but then it will be normal and we won’t want to imagine life any other way.

What’s the most amazing experience you’ve had in your life (besides having babies and getting married)? Hmmmm… I am not sure if this is the MOST amazing experience I have ever had, but sure is up there: This past summer while my husband was hiking by Denali with a friend instead of sitting at home longing to be camping as well I decided to take the 3 kids and 3 dogs backpacking on my own. We only hiked about a mile out but it was the perfect distance for my little one’s legs. It ended up raining for part of the time, but everyone was so happy. The kids were playing nicely, the scenery was beautiful and we got to stay up late listening to stories my 3 year old told. Ever since that trip the girls have asked to go “hike camping” over and over.

What does #aventuralife mean to you? How do you live it? To me #aventuralife means no bounds. I try to live this day to day by not limiting myself or my girls. Some times when we go on hikes they want to wear tutus or poofy dresses and there is nothing wrong with that! I don’t want them to feel limited or boxed in my any of their passions just as I don’t want to box myself in. I can love adventure without it defining ever part of my life. I also believe that it is a mentality, to look for the best in myself and those around me. I try to live this daily by being quick to love and slow to judge.
